PPAS was founded in November 2002 by it's Executive Director, Kristin Fairfield, MFA. As an artistic performer, she has taught performing arts locally in diverse settings throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for fifteen years, including the Oakland Girls & Boys Club, Broadway By the Bay, West Lake School of the Performing Arts, and Laney College.
"A key to success in teaching the arts and in life is very simple: through inspiration we develop the motivation to improve. "
It's important that we believe in our abilities to learn things. When we are excited about something we apply ourselves and enjoy it! All ages and all levels can enjoy the learning process when guided in a positive way. We use language that encourages and we're committed to building self confidence and self esteem in all of our students.
"My goal as a teacher is to make my students feel that they have accomplished something and to feel confident enough to know they have the ability to learn. If I have done this than I believe I have been a good teacher to them."
PPAS also provides instruction in piano and voice in group lessons and on an individual basis for both children and adults.
